Did you know Vision can integrate directly with Adobe InDesign to produce high quality proposals and qualifications submittals without having to go through Microsoft Word first? Since the release of Vision 7.1, Vision users have been able to create their own InDesign Resumes or Project Profiles using information directly from Vision.
The integration works even better than the Word merge templates because now Vision configuration is transferred and visible in InDesign when designing the templates. This means users no longer have to remember what a field used to be called if their firm has re-labeled it or what their user-defined fields or grids were labeled as when they were configured in Vision.
There are improvements in how preceding and succeeding text is handled and how zero and blank value are handled when merging directly to InDesign. In addition, users have more control over how project experience is formatted in a resume. Merging directly to InDesign from Vision saves time so users can focus on the content rather than the format of their qualifications submittals.
Please let us know if you are using the Vision InDesign integration. Vision clients would love to see what others are doing to take advantage of this great new feature of Vision.
If you aren’t yet using the InDesign integration, you can learn how to use it by taking Deltek University’s Vision Custom Proposals course where trainees will learn how to build InDesign Templates and utilize the Custom Proposals module to generate targeted resumes and project profiles. You can also set up a Consulting Engagement with one of our CRM experts to learn how to take your own InDesign documents and use them as templates for integration with Vision.
